  1. Get Rid Of Some Of Your Books -

    Aargh !

Love the idea, won’t be decluttering, may need a new bookcase/room/house to fit in this ecological new loot : ) !

  2. Ban the Bulb! -

I’ve been using these chaps for a year or more now :

    http://www.lightbulbs-direct.com/

Good value generally, useful because they have loads of different bulbs so I can do my speciality shopping at the same time as the normal bulb purchases.

Used to go through 3-4 candle bulbs a month, same with halogen bulbs, still running more than 9 months on with the original green set of bulbs and have added more to the mix!

Also the “warm” shade bulbs are very nice, less harsh.

  3. Switch To Energy Saving Lightbulbs -

Been using this site for about 1 year now

    http://www.lightbulbs-direct.com/

Very useful for wide range of different eco-bulbs, love the warmer shades. Free delivery on orders over a certain amount ( think it’s £40 but don’t remember) so if you are a dib dib dib like me and have a horde of bulbs on standby, this is a great resource.

Also works having them in advance so that it’s a quick flip when the oldstyle bulb goes ;)

Does anyone know why you can’t use them in dimmer switches? Or what you can use instead?

  4. Put Eco Balls in your Washing Machine -

Very neutral on this. Stains don’t come out, they bleach the clothes, and we started to see holes developing in pretty new clothing after a few washes.

Something I will use intermittently, but not on favoured clothes and definitely not on bright colors.
