  1. Encourage Others To Go Generous -

I was alerted to being generous by a colleague – I had a look that night and joined the ever growing ranks. I thought that if I could join up so quickly, surely others at work could too. I teach – we’ve 260 pupils, and 45 staff, and they’re all captive audience after grace at lunch, as it was my duty day, I spoke breifly about the notion of generosity, that saying thanks for our food is part and parcel of it…. oh, and I spelt out generous.org.uk three times as a subtle hint to all. When we return in September, I’ll include it in the forthcoming School Council and Sustainable Development Plan Resources Section!

  2. Give Thanks Before A Meal -

At the school I teach in we’ve traditionally said Grace before and after meals – we have had a ‘family service’ style lunch with staff serving at the end of each table. However we’re about to move to cafeteria style, where the conveyor belt of pupils will put an end to the opportunity to say thanks…. I know this will be on the agenda to address when we get back. Meanwhile at home, its an ongoing process to talk about our food, where it comes from, and how lucky we are with our three year old….

I heard about being generous from a colleague…. Its very impressive, how can you not want to chip in?! I must confess however that I have not actually committed myself to the christmas pud item – a slip of the mouse – anyone care to tell me how to delete it…?!
