  1. Give Your Unwanted / Unworn Clothes To Charity -

I am happy to continue doing this action. I also buy clothes from charity shops as well as anything else I see. I think these shops are great recycling resources.

  2. Get someone to join the Generous Community -

I will be sending the information about the site to my daughter and I’m sure she will be joining and spreading the news.

  3. Become A Blood Donor -

This really is something I have been meaning to do for some time. I have Rhneg blood and am aware that this type is needed by some babies at birth.

  4. Shower More, Bath Less -

I can’t understand anyone wanting to sit about in a bath! Wallowing in your own filth – yuk!

  5. Get Rid Of Some Of Your Books -

As others here have said, Green Metropolis is a great site and I would highly recommend it. Ebay is a good way of getting rid of books too as are charity shops, friends and relatives. In my family books circulate and then get sold on Green Metropolis or given to charity.

  6. Encourage Others To Go Generous -

I am pleased to say that I introduced the site to my daughter and she is beginning to live more generously too!

  7. Love books? Join the library -

This is an easy one. Our library is great and I use it all the time. My children have been brought up using the library and my daughter uses the local library where she lives too.

Use these facilities as much as you can to avoid losing the service.

  8. Switch To Energy Saving Lightbulbs -

This action can be more difficult than I imagined. I need small size bulbs and the only place I have found them so far is Ikea, unfortunately they seem to focus on screw in bulbs rather than bayonet type. I keep on looking though.

  9. Put A Save-A-Flush Device In Your Cistern -

In case you don’t want to pay for a device and your water company doesn’t offer free ones, I’ve found that a plastic 1pint milk jug works just as well and of course you can always drink the milk.
