  1. Sign Up Online To Become An Organ Donor -

I have always signed the organ donor card, but have now done it on line, my first action! I don’t want to donate any brain and ovary tissue, or anything that can be used for cloning, or medical experiments. I have ticked the organs they can use on the form.

  2. Share a Meal With Someone Outside Your Comfort Zone -

We tend to invite people for special occasions, like Christmas. I have been a stranger in London, when I first moved here 19 years ago, and even though I was part of a church, I was never invited for a meal unless it was Christmas. It made me feel like the token “we must be nice to strangers” stranger. Does this make sense? Maybe we should be inviting people a bit more often, it doesn’t always have to be for a meal, maybe an exhibition, or a cuppa….

  3. Get Rid Of Some Of Your Books -

When I lived in Brazil I was desperate for good books. I was sent used books by friends in England and I always took lots over when I came on homeleave. The books were circulated among the other missionaries, and when we had read them all, we would send them on to the Anglican Church in Rio de Janeiro where there is a large English speaking community, also desperate for books. The vicar there sells them for 50 pence or so, the money is for his discretionary fund, it is used for all sorts of emergencies. If your church supports missionaries abroad, contact them and ask whether they would like a book.

midwife This is midwife’s profile page.

I work as a midwife in the East End of London with a very multicultural clientele. In 2003 I returned from working 11 years in Brazil with the South American Mission Society, doing primary healthcare in urban slums and rural poor communities. I worship at my local Anglican church, I have been a Christian for as long as I can remember. My boyfriend is blind, through him I am getting involved with lawn bowling for the blind, he is the actual champion of England.
