Yes,they do look at you in amazment don’t they?(checkout operatives ,that is).I’ve got a tip-buy some of those collapsable crates(Tesco,2.49) stash them in your car and then-bingo!No need to remember bags.I just put all the shopping back in the trolley now which saves time at the checkout, then pack in unhurridly into the crates back at the car. Only works if you go in the car of course. I’ve actaully run out of carrier bags now—hurray!

  2. Share a Meal With Someone Outside Your Comfort Zone -

I agree with midwife—it doesn’t have to be a meal.We invited some neighbours over for “a drink” at Christmas.Turned out to be an all nighter! I think they were quite nevrous of coming though, which is why I suspect Smiffy was turned down.it’s their comfort zone too,and people are sometimes wary of unexpected offers such as this.

  3. Make A Positive Lifestyle Change And Tell Us About It -

I’ve got rid of my debts, credit cards and loans. hurray! Also,I’m on a counselling diploma course at present—I’m thinking about helping battered women eventually. My daughter is dyslexic so I’m also taking an understanding dyslexia course too, which is really helping.I’ll be qualified to counsel parents about dyslexia afterwards. I’m trying to cure my need for retail therapy too—have to now I’ve got no CCs!I shop in charity shops anyway,so it’s not too bad. Going back to living simply, eating well, spending a lot of time at home.Chucking out or giving away junk.Streamlining my life so I can be more efficient in what I really want/have to do.I think just making the decision to do something is the hardest thing.Once you get the ball rolling it’s easier to keep it up.I was terrified of losing the CCs, but you adapt and just don’t spend much.Less waste too.My allotment is good for cheap organic veg,and keeps me fit.I love my life—I’m grateful for what I have(most of the time anyway!)

  4. Give Your Unwanted / Unworn Clothes To Charity -

I have loads of clothes—my old ones are not up to much.I too cannot take my old clothes to Charity shops because they are too scruffy. Rag rugs is an excellent idea.

most of my clothes are bought second hand—what’s the point in spending a fortune when after the first wash they may as well be second hand anyway? I tend to live in the same clothes and wear them to death, and then mourn their passing.

The HE BC crew. has not supplied any profile information yet. And that's fine. Remember, Generous is about community, not compulsion! That said, because it's about community, a bit of information about you helps us all feel more like we're in this together. So go on, give us a few insights.
