  1. Start An Allotment - Or Half A Plot -

Just starting my second year, and hopefully it will be much more productive. We started with 6ft brambles covering the lot, we’ve prepared bout have with beds and have the other half covered to stop the brambles growing back

  2. Shower More, Bath Less -

i limit my baths to one a month, and have done for as long as i can remember, and it makes me really appreciate it. I put on candles and chilled music, and enjoy a relaxing half an hour.
haven’t tried the cold showers, maybe in the middle of summer, doesn’t seem so daunting then…

  3. Put Eco Balls in your Washing Machine -

I tried them last summer and thought they cleaned just as well as washing powder, but i did come out in a rash, that i couldn’t locate to another source, which was rather unpleasant. I do have rather sensitive skin and so may try them again in the future to make double sure it wasn’t something else that caused the rash.
or might give the nuts/pods a go.

  4. Energy Efficient Cooking -

Will definately give it a go, sounds like u can’t go wrong.
Also loving the ironing idea, will try that too

  5. Buy A Copy of Change the World for a Fiver -

  6. Buy A Copy of Change the World for a Fiver -

just came back to add another comment, and realise my last one wasn’t posted…

I had said i had just ordered one. I received it last week, and have found it to be really good. Also got my work to buy the 9-5 one which is just as good.

    Definately worth buying

  7. Ditch The Disposable Items -

    2 things:

    - Anyone have any details for a milkman in Bexley, Kent area?

    - union or anyone:
what material would use to knit dishcloths?

    many thanks
    Dani

  8. Hold off on the heating -

i was planning on doing this already. lighting a few candles keeps off a chill, and sets a really nice atmosphere at the same time. i do it every autumn/winter, and see how long i can last.

  9. Buy Presents That Make A Difference -

This year me and my partner decided to have a £5 limit on each other and make all other presents. We made allotment boxes for family, most of the seeds saved from our allotment topped up with spare packets we had in storage, along with 12 homemade mince pies.
For each other it will be charity shops, making things ourselves and finding things around the home that have become forgotten and wrapping them up as new.
18 days to xmas and all seems to be going well.

  10. Have A Fairly Traded, Ethically Sourced, Especially Tasty Dinner -

I have been making christmas cakes and mince pies for the past few years, and this year we will also be having homegrown parnips, potatoes, onions and leeks with xmas dinner. can’t get more locally sorced than that!
