  1. Put Eco Balls in your Washing Machine -

Been a bit dubious of these, what with lots of food and other spills on our two year old’s clothes and inevitably on ours. Ecover is green enough surely? and works satisfiably enough. But we’re going to give it a go ourselves having read other’s comments. They do sound a bit weird and wacky – Can someone say (simply) how they work, why do they oxygenate clothing?

  2. Organise Your Money (What You Want To Give Away) -

We do most of our giving through direct debit, and find that it’s almost always possible to gift aid one-off donations. In the days before gift aid on modest donations I can see that a CAF account was very useful, but I’m not sure how much added value it provides now.

  3. Give Thanks Before A Meal -

Realised we’re finding the ‘planetary’ actions much easier than the ‘faithful’ ones. Like others we think to say grace much more easily when other Christians have come for dinner rather than when it’s just us. We recently stayed a few days with friends who had established the habit of praying a simple prayer of thanks for the day with their toddler each bedtime, and after joining in with them, we are now doing so each night with our little boy, and finding it a special time. Are going to seek to remember to thank God for his goodness at other times too, like before meals.

Tim & Sarah This is Tim & Sarah’s profile page.

Tim, Sarah and Joel. We live in a maisonette in Stockwell and are part of Brandon Baptist Church in Camberwell (25 minutes walk from Stockwell where we moved in Sep 06). Tim works as an office manager for a advice charity, Sarah works as an Occupational Therapist(half time) and Joel is busy being a toddler. Having just got broadband, we thought we\’d sign up to Living Genourously, having heard about it on our annual trips to Greenbelt. As people seeking to live as part of God\’s kingdom we\’ve been trying to live generously and greener, but thought some mutual support, exchange of ideas and kick up the backsides would be helpful, as it seems so all to easy to slip into comfortable, second-run-of-the-property-ladder materialism.
